Since 2017, the Jean Monnet Association has been coordinating the Erasmus + Clubs Europe project, the aim of which is to allow the creation and reinforcement of the implementation of Clubs Europe in several partner high schools in the EU territory.

From 25 to 31 March, forty students from France, Poland and Slovakia met for a 5-day mobility in Brezno, Slovakia.

This meeting gave rise to the organization of events and various activities, promoting European values. and living together.

Here is a small overview of the student program !

First Day – Tuesday, March 26

After meeting the Deputy Mayor, the students were taken to Gymnazium Jana Chalupku High School where they were greeted by a charming show of traditional Slovak music and dance. The students were then able to visit the high school and the garden created by the Slovak students and their teachers !

Second day – Wednesday, March 27

In the morning, the students presented their respective European club before embarking on a captivating European treasure hunt !

The afternoon was devoted to the visit of the city center of Brezno, provided by the students themselves: main square, city museum, synagogue etc …

Finally, the evening gave rise to a multicultural feast including Slovak, French and Polish specialties that each participant had brought home for the occasion.

Third day – Thursday, March 28

Excursion out of Brezno for this third day of activities, starting with a visit to a traditional Slovakian farm where the group was introduced to making cheese and smoking meat.

The students then visited the newly restored 13th century Ľupča Castle, 30 minutes by bus from Brezno.

Fourth day – Friday, March 29

The morning began with the visit of the Brezno Hotel School, Akademia, where students were able to attend a demonstration of flair bar tending.

Then all the high school students found themselves in high school for a T-shirt making workshop to reinforce their creativity.

The afternoon, everyone ended up at the M-Club, the HQ of the Youth Parliament of the city for an activity on stereotypes and prejudices.

Finally, the evening of Friday was an opportunity to party together, one last time ! On the program: folk and contemporary dance, hearty buffet, laughs and intercultural exchanges!

Fifth day – Saturday, March 30

Our last day in Slovakia was an opportunity to gather the students’ opinions on all the activities organized during the stay : what did they prefer ? What did they learn ? What did they like less ?
Departure in the early afternoon for the museum of the Slovak national uprising in Banská Bystrica and free time at the Europa shopping center of the city to fill the luggage of memories before departure.
